As many of you know, I volunteer at Horizon's For Homeless Children and have been doing it now for a year and a half. It is one of the highlights of my month when I have the opportunity to photograph an event or spend time with the kids. This is truly an amazing organization run by amazingly dedicated people whose purpose in life is to make sure there are fewer homeless kids on the streets and to give those kids and families a safe, warm and supportive environment. Getting these families back on their feet is a priority and Horizon's provides a place for the kids to spend the day where they get food, education, play time and most of all love and attention.
This past weekend was their 21st Spring Gala - their big fund raiser. It was wonderful to see all the people gather to contribute whether it be with a check or their time. I'm always moved and humbled at these events seeing all the generosity and love given by those who attend.
