A BIT ABOUT ME.. White Mountain hiking!

Every fall we go hiking up in the White Mountains. We like to stay at Joe Dodge Lodge which is one of the Appalachian Club lodges in NH. This year was amazing. The leaves were fully peaked and it was so wonderful to spend a little time out in beauty of the mountains. We went with friends this year. Monday morning we all headed off to Lowes Bald Spot, a 2.5 mile hike to the summit and 2.5 back down. Can I tell you - we did AWESOME. The two 4 years olds were great. Didn't complain once and managed some pretty steep rock climbing and mud puddle leaping. Our little 13 month old did great too, tucked away in dad's backpack. How cute was he dressed as a little bear? We couldn't resist putting him in the mountain side to see what he would do - he LOVED it. We were tempted to hide in the bushes and see what the passer hikers would make of 'little bear' but decided against it least he crawl off the edge of the mountain while we were tucked out of sight! We made it to the top and back down in about 5 hours. It was chilly, mind you, so we didn't hang about at the summit - quick lunch and back down we headed. The whole weekend was great and I can't recommend the lodge enough. Family friendly, inexpensive and located in a spectacular place.
