Well, once again I've come across something from Hugh Prather that I wanted to share:
Perfection is slow death. If everything were to turn out just like I would want it to, just like I would plan for it to, then I would never experience anything new; my life would be an endless repetition of stale successes. When I make a mistake I experience something unexpected
I really love this observation. How true it is. I think sometimes we can get caught up in striving for perfection (how ever we chose to define it) and loose sight of the wonderful, random nature of life. Always striving to be perfect can cause so much stress and disappointment. I think sometimes we need to be reminded that when things go 'wrong' or not as planned it can be a positive experience - if we can learn to view it from a different perspective. So loosen up this summer everyone - have fun, try new things, get out and enjoy every second while it lasts!!
