What can I say - it's magical, being a mother. Don't get me wrong, it's not all sparkles and laughter- it comes with a lot (and I mean a lot) of things that aren't..well.. so magical - but I wouldn't trade it for the world.
Not a day goes by that I don't marvel at the fact that I'm a mom and thank the stars for the gift I was given. Being a mom is hard, really hard but I find it the most worthwhile challenge of my life. I think the thing that surprised me the most about being a mom is how much I'm learning about myself - and how that knowledge helps me I'm with Teagan and trying to do the right things for her.
A friend asked me recently what the hardest thing about being a mom is. I thought for a moment and replied, 'It' not the day to day tasks of raising a family, it's the not knowing if the choices you're making for them now and the things you're teaching them are the right choices and lessons to make them emotionally stable, independent and caring adults. '
What's the best part - the fun, the friendship, the laughter, the joy in their faces... it's all wonderful. So happy Mother's Day to all of you - new and seasoned moms ... thank you for letting me share in your joy and your love.
