Father's Day
When I was a girl of fourteen, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be in my forties, I was astonished at how much he had learned in all those years. ~Author unknown, commonly attributed to Mark Twain
So, this is me in a nutshell. It's taken me a long, long time to appreciate how much my dad not only knows but is in a position to share it with and teach me. He and his wife have been my biggest fans through this photography journey. Without their support I'm not sure where I'd be right now.
I think of those whom I love who have lost their father's over the years and I try to remember how very lucky I am that my father is not only live and well but active and interested in my life. I am a very lucky person to have been given the gift of my dad.
Happy Father's Day Dad. I love you
* this obviously isn't a picture of my dad - I don't have a recent one of the two of us - but I just loved this image taken a few weeks back and thought it held the joy and love that I'm feeling.
